How to identify the quality of auto parts
Mar 27,2023

1. Look at the trademark
Carefully check the trademark to see if the factory name, address, grade and anti-counterfeiting mark on it are authentic. For short-term counterfeiters, the production of anti-counterfeiting marks is not an easy task and requires a large amount of expenditure. In addition, in terms of product production, regular manufacturers have hard stamps and chemical imprints on the surface of spare parts, indicating the part number, model, and date of manufacture. They generally use automatic printing, with neatly arranged letters and clear handwriting. Small factories and small workshops generally It can't be done.
2. Look at the packaging
Auto parts are highly interchangeable and highly precise. In order to be stored for a long time without deterioration or rust, the products need to be coated with low acidic grease before leaving the factory. Regular manufacturers also have very strict requirements for packaging boxes, requiring no acidic substances and no chemical reactions. Some use hard transparent plastic vacuum packaging. Exquisite packaging can increase the added value and value of the product. Most boxes and boxes use anti-counterfeiting marks. Commonly used ones include lasers, barcodes, dark stamps, etc. These are very important when purchasing accessories.
3. Read the documents
Be sure to check the product manual of the auto parts. The product manual is the information used by the manufacturer to further promote the product to users, provide users with certain tips, and help users use the product correctly. Product manuals can enhance users' trust in the product. Generally speaking, each accessory should be accompanied by a product manual (the manufacturer on the right comes with user instructions). If the transaction volume is quite large, you must also check the technical appraisal data for imported accessories and the customs import declaration data. The state stipulates that imported goods should be accompanied by Chinese instructions. Some counterfeit imported accessories generally do not have Chinese instructions, and the foreign language on the packaging is sometimes grammatically unclear or even has wrong words. The authenticity can be distinguished at a glance.
4. To identify metal mechanical parts, you can check the surface treatment.
The so-called surface treatment refers to electroplating process, paint process, welding process and high-frequency heat treatment process. The surface treatment of auto parts is the back-end process of parts production. The back-end process of products, especially surface treatment, involves a lot of modern science and technology. Large international and domestic manufacturers invest a lot of money in the use of advanced technology, and pay more attention to back-end processes. The investment capital ranges from several million yuan to tens of millions of yuan. Some small factories and handicraft workshops that manufacture counterfeit and shoddy products have a common characteristic, which is to adopt low-investment predatory short-term business practices. They rarely invest technology and funds in the back-end processes of products, and they have no such capital investment capacity.
The surface treatment specifically includes the following aspects:
①, Galvanizing technology and electroplating process. For the surface treatment of auto parts, galvanizing process accounts for a large proportion. Generally, cast iron parts, forged castings, steel castings, hot and cold plate stamping parts, etc. are mostly surface galvanized. Galvanizing with substandard quality will have poor surface consistency; galvanizing with passing process will have good surface consistency, and the consistency will not change between batches, providing continuous stability. A discerning person can tell the difference between authenticity and quality at a glance. For other aspects of electroplating, such as black plating, yellow plating, etc., the rust removal and pickling process before plating in large factories is relatively strict, and the acid removal is relatively thorough. These processes depend on whether there is any bottoming phenomenon. For molybdenum plating, chromium plating, and nickel plating, the authenticity can be determined by looking at whether the plating, plating amount, and plating surface are uniform.
②. Painting process. Nowadays, electric dipping paint and electrostatic spray painting are generally used, and some also use vacuum means and high-grade electrostatic paint room spray painting. The surface of parts produced using advanced technology is very different from the surface of parts produced using outdated and backward technology. During visual inspection, it can be seen that the surface of the former is delicate, shiny, and bright in color; while the latter is dull and dull in color, with bubbles and "snot dragging" on the surface, and it feels like sand when touched by hand. In comparison, the authenticity and fakeness are Very distinct.
③. Electric welding process. Among auto parts, shock absorbers, steel rings, front and rear axles, beams, bodywork, etc. all have electric welding processes. Most of the highly specialized supporting factories of automobile factories adopt automated welding technology, which can quantify, fix temperature, and speed. Some also use advanced processes such as low-temperature welding methods to produce neat welds, uniform thickness, and smooth surfaces. The corrugation and linearity are good. Even for spot welding, the welding points and welding distance are very regular, which cannot be achieved even with the best manual operation.
High frequency heat treatment process. Auto parts products are subjected to high-frequency quenching treatment after finishing, so various colors remain intact on the products after quenching. For example, after the inner and outer ball cages of automobile universal joints are quenched, they will have obvious black, cyan, yellow and white colors. The white surface is the friction surface and is also the surface with the highest hardness. During visual inspection, anything completely black or colorless is definitely not high-frequency quenching.
The factory must be equipped with a complete set of high-frequency quenching equipment, including hardness, metallographic analysis testing instruments and supporting instruments. It is difficult and requires a lot of investment. It must also have the conditions for power supply, transmission and transformation equipment. The power supply is in More than 30,000 volts. Small factories and handicraft workshops do not have these equipment conditions. Run
5. Look at the surface scars on the non-use surface
From the scratches on the non-use surfaces of auto parts, you can also tell whether the products are produced by regular factories or those produced by informal factories.
Surface scars are caused by the collision of products during the intermediate process. High-quality products are manufactured by advanced scientific management and advanced process technology. Producing a part requires dozens or even hundreds of processes, and each process must be equipped with process equipment, including process transportation equipment and work station equipment for process placement. High-quality products are guaranteed by high process equipment coefficients, so products from high-level factories are unlikely to collide with each other during the intermediate process. From this, it can be inferred that any product that leaves scars on non-contact surfaces must be small. Inferior products produced by factories and small workshops.
